Taj Boston – Boston

Recently I had a weekend wedding to attend in Boston. Drove up from New York to stay one night at the Taj Boston which was close to the wedding venue.

The hotel is located across the street from Boston Public Garden in an upscale area. The building is an old school with a small lobby and large proportion rooms.

Its summer and it hot… even walking the public garden as a challenge.

A pre-war classic, like the ones on Park Avenue in NYC.1 IMG_3839

Need anything expensive? You can walk in via the lobby. 3 IMG_3854

The main dinning room is upstairs but I did not eat at the hotel as I had attend the wedding.4 IMG_3853

As you can see the lobby is small. 5 IMG_3850

Walking toward the front desk… 6 IMG_3849

After check I get up to the fourth floor. I was upgraded to a small suite.  7 IMG_3848

Long classic hallway. This type of hotel tends to have an older crowd which tends to mean more calm than excitement…  8 IMG_3840

For those long walks in the hallway there is even a rest area… 9 IMG_3841

The hallway in my suite.10 IMG_3828

I get an interior suite, no view… its bad that I have no view, but no street noise. 11 IMG_3845

The living room is classic and utilitarian. I say this over and over again, but I love my hotel room desks and use them all the time. 12 IMG_3829

Another view… 13 IMG_3825

looking toward the hallway and bedroom. 14 IMG_3830

Some literature to get me into tourist mode… 16 IMG_3835

A working fire place… in the winter they have a butler for this… But not in the summer… 😦 17 IMG_3836

The bedroom.. again classic as is the theme of the hotel… The mattress is very comfortable. They also have a selection of pillows… IMG_3820

The mandatory marble bathroom. IMG_3822

The bath amenities are L’Occitan and nice.IMG_3823

Its workout time. Its nicer than I expected. IMG_3842IMG_3846IMG_3847

Now all dressed up for the wedding. IMG_3856

At the lobby waiting for my car. The hotel services were impeccable but the facilities are starting to look a little dated. It may be time to freshen up things a little. But the location and attention to detail during my stay was great and look forward to my return.  IMG_3860

The wedding was near the Cheers bar… I grew up watching Cheers so I had to stop by. I took a selfie but I had a few too many drinks so I will not post here. IMG_3908
