Barnes Foundation – Philadelphia

The Barnes Foundation is a intimate collection of major impressionist and modernist masters works. The galleries mimics Mr. Barnes’ home and has a residential feel. Every room feels like impressionist blockbuster, the concentration of art is dense. It was overwhelming but manageable because each work of art was hung in a symmetrical pattern that somehow made it easy to view. It would take many visit to really enjoy this place, but some how I think each visit will feel like a new visit.

The modern building and reflection pool is calming…

All the paintings are symmetrically laid out. /home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/ac2/70730819/files/2014/12/img_0827.jpgClose up of the ‘Postman’/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/ac2/70730819/files/2014/12/img_0828.jpgOther parts of the building has a library and seating areas. /home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/ac2/70730819/files/2014/12/img_0831.jpg
